Why go
Jazz with Caribbean rhythms and Latin fire, plus classical moments and original compositions, played by a trio on an intimate stage.
About this event
Coming off his recent appearance at Carnegie Hall, where he performed alongside acclaimed pianists Natalie Tenenbaum, Joey Alexander, Nerva Altino, Robenson Altino, and Valentina Lisitsa, Assel brings that same level of artistry, energy, and musical depth to this intimate stage. Rooted in the rich traditions of jazz while embracing the vibrant spirit of the Caribbean, the program will feature music inspired by masters such as Mario Canonge and Michel Camilo, alongside Assel’s original compositions, popular favorites, and moments of classical brilliance. The evening promises a dynamic musical journey that moves effortlessly between groove, lyricism, and virtuosic storytelling. Joined by a world-class trio and friends, Assel creates a sonic landscape that is both intimate and exhilarating — where rhythmic energy meets emotional depth, and improvisation becomes a language of connection. From fiery Latin jazz passages to lush cinematic ballads and joyful Caribbean grooves, Assel Jean-Pierre and his trio celebrates the beauty of musical diversity and the power of live artistry. Come enjoy an evening weaving together jazz, Caribbean rhythms, Latin fire, classical elegance, and contemporary soul.
