Why go

A Florida premiere of John Williams' Clarinet Concerto, played by the soloist it was written for, joins Beethoven's Sixth. Audience members vote live on the encore, so the crowd helps choose the last piece.

About this event

Symphony No. 6 remains one of the most innovative and emotionally transporting symphonies ever composed. The concert also features a Florida premiere of John Williams’ Clarinet Concerto performed by legendary Chicago Symphony Orchestra Principal Clarinetist John Bruce Yeh, whom the concerto was originally composed for. Audience participation takes center stage as concertgoers vote live for the encore performance. This Classics Series concert is also a part of this Season’s Resonate Festival, curated by Music Director Eric Jacobsen. Take part in a celebration of one of history’s greatest composers with concerts dedicated to Beethoven’s genius and influence on the classical canon.
