"Tiny Kingdoms" Solo Exhibit by Megan Hernandez

About this event

Tiny Kingdoms explores the fascinating world of insects and other tiny critters, shining a magnifying glass on their ecosystems they call home. Often overlooked, passed by, or even stepped on, these small worlds are full of beauty, complexity, and wonder. Megan Hernandez is a muralist and illustrator based in Orlando, Florida. Creatures of the natural world serve as the central muse and inspiration in her work. Often paying homage to the ecosystems of her home state, she aims to highlight the natural balance and quiet order found in the environment. Drawing from a visual vocabulary rooted in contemporary folk aesthetics and local iconography, she uses bold, saturated color and patterned motifs to create compositions that carry an adult refinement guided by the hand of her inner child. Working across murals, digital design, and illustration, Hernandez maintains a graphic clarity that translates fluidly across any scale and medium. Her work has received recognition through awards, commissions, and public art projects. Opening reception is November 6th from 7-10 PM.
